This is an OPTIONAL assignment for students that received a "NYM" (Not Yet Mastered) grade on their report card in the first term for the Matter Unit. This is an opportunity to replace that NYM with an "M" (Mastered). It is not a guarantee. Using Google Docs, complete the following assignment:

"Write a five paragraph essay on Matter, as discussed in science class. The essay must include an introduction, a conclusion, and a three-paragraph body. Please explain physical changes and how you can distinguish them. Also, explain chemical changes and evidence that a chemical change may have occurred. Finally, explain how matter cannot be created or destroyed, just changed from one form to another. You may use all the materials from science class. Here is a link to the main handout: http://www.uen.org/core/science/sciber/TRB5/downloads/01literacy.pdf

This is due on Monday.

SAGE Language: We had part 1 of the SAGE Language test today. I this the kids did well, although I won't know for sure until I see the results and I'm not sure when that will be. At any rate, the kids seemed confident and there were no tears, so I can't complain! Part 2 will be on Thursday.
Math: My notes from Mr. Reese, our sub, indicated that he taught and reviewed volume, but he wasn't confident that everyone was "getting it." Today, I reviewed volume with the class and will be moving on soon.
Teacher Appreciation Week: Thank you for all the wonderful gifts and notes. I really appreciate you all! My class is really fantastic and I wouldn't trade these kids for anyone!
